Workshops offered at Convocation 2010

The Devil, the Tower, and the Star
These Tarot cards reveal a pattern: Devil--contracts, stories we bind our life-force into. Tower—Old patterns become caging structures destroyed in fire. Star--unbound life-force, hope, and inspiration flows back.

Join us to explore your own Tower moments through discussion and ritual, and to look deeper at your old patterns, shadows, the fears that bind us, and the gifts hidden within the wounds. Your Tower falls--will you be lost in the ruins and embers, or will you embrace transformation to see unveiled light of the Star?

Raising the Sacred Fire: Building and Moving Energy in Ritual
Would you like to learn how to build, move, and transform energy? Learning to facilitate effective ritual can be frustrating. This workshop offers tools to work with ecstatic energy through presentations, discussions, and hands-on practice.

Experienced ritualists will learn tools to facilitate more potent rituals and discussing what works and why. New ritualists will learn foundations of ritual work.

Join us to harness the fire of life-force and explore: ritual components and energetic flow, intention, strengthening presence and charisma, and engaging participation with chanting, movement, rhythm, and group connection.

Power and Pagan Leadership: The Fire of Community
Power: the community’s hearth-fire or lightning striking the Tower? Pagan groups collapse from power struggles, obstinacy, powerlessness, and other imbalances. Whether you’re a seasoned leader or want to build healthy community, join us for discussion and experiential exercises to learn power’s mysteries.

How does power move in groups? We’ll explore group dynamics, empowerment, group structures affecting power, hierarchy, authority, integrity, and responsibility for impact. We’ll connect to our personal power, energy, and charisma to explore empowering and power-sharing.

Will stand in your power and tend the fires of sustainable community?

12 Steps of Addiction Alchemy
The crisis of addiction, whether substance abuse or behavioral patterns, can create a unique opportunity for spiritual growth. The 12 Steps program has been used to manage addiction, and its language and methods can be exclusionary to modern Pagans and Occultists By combining the seven major steps of alchemy (Calcination through Coagulation) and the four classical elements, along with the heart of 12 Steps, we can release the energy that is stored in addictive behavior and change the “lead” of addiction to the “gold” of a more integrated self.
